Social Ministry

The St. Matthew the Apostle Social Ministry and Right to Life Group supports the parish in various outreach events throughout the year and raises money to support charitable organizations in our community.  As members of the Right to Life Group, we are committed to the sanctity of all life.  We participate in various pro-life functions throughout the year.

Some of our events include:

  • Annual clothing drive
  • Mass of Annointing
  • Food Pantry collections and distribution
  • Giving Tree at Christmas
  • Bread for Life Sale
  • Bagel Breakfasts
  • Spaghetti dinners to raise money for charities
  • Monthly visits to the Family Homeless Shelter
  • Monthly visits to the Men's Shelter
  • Annual Life Chain
  • Bus trip to Washington, D. C. for March For Life
  • Crop Walk

This list is a sample of what we do.  Not all members are involved in each area.  Whatever time a person can contribute is greatly appreciated.  New members are always welcome.  Please consider joining us.

The Social Ministry and Right to Life Group meets on the first Wednesday of each month - September to June - at 7:00 pm in the Faculty Room of the St. Matthew School.

Contact Deacon Barry Demarest at (732) 985-5063, if you are interested in joining us and making a difference.
